J’ai acheté SHELBY, l’ayant vu en mars 2006, se fiant sur l’entraîneur des écuriesC. Ballard of Cherokee. Elle et Jeri ont toujours ressenti que ce poulain nous donnerait tout un spectacle. Jeri l’a pouliné et l’éleva jusqu’à l’âge de 4 ans, ayant le loisir d’être un cheval dans un troupeau de 8.

Connie le retira du champ et commença à travailler avec lui et m’envoya des photos sur internet tout en sachant que c’était un étalon de ‘calibre national’. Elle a entraîné pour moi des chevaux durant 2 ans et son opinion comptait beaucoup pour moi. L’excitation de Connie grandissait,rapportant le commentaire que SHELBY étant tellement comme son père Champion, NFCs Candy Dandy, que Connie a entraîné pour les show par le passé. Elle pouvait le voir en action, comment ses jarrets avaient un beau mouvement. SHELBY avait l’esprit et l’âme d’un gagnant. Je lui demanda s’il pouvait être présenté au licou?elle le pensait à ce moment. Ne pouvant faire beaucoup de show en 2006 ayant d’autres engagements, mais elle a réussi quand même en faire 3. SHELBY est devenu Grand Champion étalon en licou, dès son premier show.

Avec seulement 2 show de licou un de plaisance attelée, ils se dirigèrent vers Tulsa Oklahoma avec en tête que ce poulain avait ce qu’il faut pour être un champion……

Mardi, 12 septembre 2006…..j’ai reçu un appel de Connie….

‘Ginny….tu as maintenant un AMHR 2006 Top 10 Nationnal cheval de licou comme étalon.’

• j’étais enchanté à ce moment-là –

Elle rappela après minuit….

‘Ginny..tu n’as pas seulement un étalon licou Top 10, mais tu as maintenant ……un AMHR 2006, Champion de Réserve en plaisance attelée comme étalon.

• Je ne pouvais le croire…….leurs intuitions étaient bien justes….il était devenu un Champion de Réserve au National.

SHELBY est un ‘showman’. Comme son père, il sait si prendre quand il y a une foule autour de lui, il rentre dans le ring, et est prêt à s’exécuter. Se véhicule ssur le ring de la rampe…..sa présence qui semble nous dire ‘ regardez-moi’. Les juges au AMHR National 2006 ……. N’ont pas aidé mais l’ont remarqué!

SHELBY est un 2002 de couleur ‘bay pinto’ étalon, avec un mélange de couleur de crinière noir et blanc d’étalon. Il a un caractère énergique avec une personnalité gracieuse et élégante……une formidable tradition. Il a des oreilles pointues et coquettes, de grands yeux noisettes……. Sa croupe musclée se cramponnent lorsqu’il est attelé à la voiture, exhibe ses mouvements en action, tout cela seulement avec ses 29.75`` de grandeur! Ce cheval peut mouver ,il a été croisé pour trotter. Il EST un ``showman``….il est un cheval formidable!

Son père est un National Champion des écuries Cherokee 2001 AMHA….. AOTE Champion plaisance attelée, NFCs Candy Dandy. Le grand-père de SHELBY est Rhotens Little Dandyet le grand, grand-père est Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King. Et enfin,….. Rhotens Little Dandy est aussi performant 33 AMHA Champion Mondial …..50% en Licou et 50% en conduite. Le pedigree du jeune étalon est champion dans les 2 associations AMHA and AMHR. Son père est un ‘bay roan pinto’ avec du noir et blanc dans la crinière et la queue. Sa mère est Sweetwater’s Sweet Charity, 34`` noisette….Shelby doit projeter très certainement un rayon de couleurs.

Connie et Tim vont nous shower Mr. Shelby encore en 2007….surveillez-le….vous n’aurai que d’admiration pour lui.

I purchased Shelby, sight unseen in March 2006, trusting my trainer, Connie Ballard of Cherokee Stables eye. She and Jeri always felt this colt should be in the show ring. Jeri had foaled him out and raised him to age 4, enjoying a life of leisure just being a horse in a small herd of 8.

Connie took him out of the field, started working with him and emailed me with pictures of what she felt was a 'national caliber' stallion. She has trained and shown horses for me for 2 years and I trusted her opinion. As they worked, Connie's excitement grew, commenting that Shelby is so much like his National Champion driving sire, NFCs Candy Dandy, who Connie had trained and showed. She could see the hock action, how his hip churns out the movement. Shelby has the spirit and soul of a winner. I asked if he could show halter. She said she thought so. She was unable to do many shows in 2006 due to family commitments, but managed to go to three shows. Shelby went Grand Champion Stallion in halter his first show.

With just 2 halter shows and 1 driving sho, they headed to Tulsa on a feeling that this colt has what it takes to be a champion...she was right:

Tuesday, September 12, 2006.....I received a phone call from Connie....
"Ginny...you now have a 2006 AMHR National Top 10 Halter Horse as your new herdsire!"

~ I was thrilled ~

She called back after midnight...
"Ginny...YOU not only have a TOP 10 Halter Stallion, but YOU NOW also have a 2006 AMHR Reserve National Champion DRIVING Stallion!"

~ I could not believe it....their gut feeling was right...he was National Caliber! ~

Shelby is a showman. Like his sire, he turns it on when people are around. When he enters the ring he's ready to rock n' roll. He motored down the rail with a presence that yelled look at me. The judges at the 2006 AMHR Nationals could not help but notice him!

Shelby is a 2002 boldly marked bay pinto stallion, with a mixed mane and tail like sire. He has an energizer type personality that is graceful and elegant in the Dandy tradition. He has pert tipped ears, huge walnut eyes, deep jowl and pretty topline. Those muscular hips dig in and go when hooked to a cart, exhibiting his beautiful hock action, and all at a mere 29.75" tall! This horse can move! He is bred to trot....he IS showman...he's a Dandy horse!

His sire is Cherokee Stables 2001 AMHA National Champion AOTE Country Pleasure Driving Horse, NFCs Candy Dandy. Shelby's grandsire is Rhotens Little Dandy and great-grandsire is Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King. At last count, Rhotens Little Dandy's get has achieved 33 AMHA World Championships with 50% in Halter and 50% in Driving. This young stallion's pedigree is rich with champions in both AMHA and AMHR. His sire is a bay roan pinto with a silver mane and tail. His dam is Sweetwater's Sweet Charity, 34" chestnut mare. Shelby should throw an array of colors.
